Welcome to drivescape!
Mobility – a central part of our modern society. Getting from A to B, in the most efficient and quickest way possible, maybe even fully automated so that one can finish that presentation right on the way. Technological progress can not be stopped, capitalism and pressure to perform demand more and more efficiency in all aspects of our lives. But that is not what this blog is all about.
Driving for its own sake, not necessarily without destination, but as a complete experience.
It’s about sheer driving pleasure, passion for moving, and the feel of freedom to be experienced on the road. It’s about the journey itself, the discovery, experiencing every aspect, from car to landscape. The quick cornering an the weekend, with the 25 km detour on the way to the excursion destination. About the famous alpine roads, starting with the Routes des Grandes Alpes, over the the Swiss Albula Pass and finally the Dolomites. Or off to the Netherlands, towards the sea. Driving for it’s own sake, not necessarily without destination, but as a complete experience.
On the point
This blog is about road trips, beautiful routes and destination, which I will be doing either on my own or with car enthusiasts around me. About showing the routes, and inspiring people to go on those road trips aswell. Described in my words, and shown by the fantastic photographs of my girlfriend Elena and my own drone footage.
Why? Well, why not. For quite some time, I’ve been watching several different formats about cars, and now it’s time to give something back. A clear inspiration are Can Struck (http://driversgroove.com/) and Sebastian Bauer (https://passiondriving.de/), which both run the YouTube format “thepluses“, which is all about road trips. Another, obvious inspiration is Stefan Bogners work in his “Curves – Soulful driving” magazines. And then there’s also the YouTuber Joe Achilles from Great Britain with his great passion for cars (especially BMW) and driving.
I hope I can inspire people for doing road trips on their own, to experience that desire to go on a trip for its own sake. New posts are planned on a 3-week basis for sundays. I hope you like them, and I’m happy to hear from you. 🙂
